Lady in mauve

One of my favourite painters is German-American Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956), a leading figure of the expressionist movement, and one of the prominent victims of the Nazi witch hunt on degenerate art. This painting from 1922 is more cubist in character, demonstrating that this approach can also lead to elegant results. More on Feininger in the linked Wikipedia article.
