Abstraction (the Blue Mountain)

Last week, we visited a brilliant exhibition of expressionists in nearby Zwolle. We saw many beautiful paintings by well-known artists such as Marc, Macke, Kandinsky, Kirchner, Heckel, Nolde, Pechstein, Werefkin, Jawlensky, but also a few by artists I had never heard of, A case in point is the German painter Christian Rohlfs (1849 - 1938).
