Ripped in October

A selected overview of culture stars relevant to my own tastes who passed away this month. Rest in peace. Image by myself.

Rod Temperton (66), British song writer, producer and musician. Best remembered for writing a number of huge hits such as Michael Jackson's Thriller and Rock with you. Exact date of death undisclosed (end September or early October).
Neville Marriner (92), British conductor. My Classical CD collection contains dozens of discs with him conducting the Academy of St Martin in the Fields or the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Jeroen Orlemans (45), Dutch photographer. He specialized in war reporting, which eventually cost him his life.
Louis Stettner (93), American photographer. He is best remembered for his street photography of New York and Paris.
Jimmy Perry (93), British actor and scriptwriter. Together with David Croft he was responsible for some of the best British sitcoms of the 70s and 80s, such as Dad's army.
Bobby Vee (73), American singer with a string of hits in the sixties. My favourite song of his is The night has a thousand eyes.
Roland Dyens (61), French composer and classical guitarist. We have a handful of his CD's.
Silvio Gazzaniga (95), Italian sculptor. Best known for designing the FIFA World Cup trophy.
