The Beatles - a musical appreciation and analysis

The Beatles have really changed the course of pop/rock music in the mid sixties. Helped by producer George Martin, they incorporated wide ranging influences into their songs, from classical music to Indian sounds. The linked 48 min video is a very interesting lecture on this subject, with plenty examples, by composer Howard Goodall, best known for TV themes like Blackadder. Mr. Bean, Red Dwarf, and the Vicar of Dibley.
