Ripped in May

A selected overview of culture stars relevant to my own tastes who passed away this month. Rest in peace.

Geoffrey Bayldon (93), British actor. I will always remember him as Catweazle from the 1970/1971 TV series of the same name - a staple of my youth. "Nothing works!"
Chris Cornell (52), American singer and song writer, the lead vocalist of the bands Soundgarden and Audioslave. Not a personal favourite in any way, but there's no denying his importance in rock.
Roger Moore (89), British actor. From Ivanhoe via The Persuaders to his James Bond films - I'll always remember him fondly.
Gregg Allman (69), American singer, song writer. Best known as the lead singer of the Allman Brothers Band, who made our car MP3 USB stick with the songs Ramblin' man and Jessica (better known as the theme from Top Gear).
Elisabeth Chojnacka (77), Polish harpsichordist. She specialized in contemporary classical music for her instrument from composers like Gorecki, Ohana, de Falla, Poulenc and Halffter.
Jiri Belohlavek (71), Czech conductor, who specialized in music of Czech composers. We have several of his CD's, especially those with works by Martinu.
