Ripped in July

A selected overview of culture stars relevant to my own tastes who passed away this month. Rest in peace. Image by myself.

Michael Cimino (77), American film director and screen writer. He directed the classic movie The Deer Hunter.
Billy Name (76), American photographer. Best known for his work with Andy Warhol, and covers for Velvet Underground albums.
Garry Marshall (81), American actor, director, writer, and producer. He created the TV series Happy days and Mork and Mindy.
Marni Nixon (86), American soprano and playback singer. She is best remembered for singing the parts of actresses like Deborah Kerr, Audrey Hepburn and Natalie Wood in various hit movies.
Eric Kuhne (64), American-born British architect. He was responsible for projects like the Cockle Bay Wharf in Sydney, Australia, the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, and the Titanic Quarter redevelopment in Belfast.
Einojuhani Rautavaara (87), Finnish composer of classical music. One of the best contemporary composers to my taste.
Peter Sadlo (54), German classical music percussionist. He recorded a number of CD's in our collection.
