The synesthetic art of Melissa McCracken

Synesthesia is when one sensory experience involuntarily, and consistently, prompts another. One example is the automatic conversion in the mind from sound to colours. American artist Melissa McCracken uses her synesthesia to create paintings from listening to pop/rock songs. The resulting abstract works are beautiful, and the background stories only makes them more fascinating. Do click the link to see them larger.
