Vintage advertisement posters are much sought after, and have been
recognized for their artistic merit as well giving us a chance to look
at days gone by. There have even been dedicated exhibitions of such
posters in art museums. I like these nostalgic images and will post a
few grouped per theme. Today's theme is champagne (hardly surprising given the time of year). The image above is
created via Photofunia and is free from copyright issues.
Starting with a bit of Art Nouveau.
La Champagne
A variation on the theme - a poster advertising for the region rather than one of the brands of champagne.
Contratto
Contratto is an Italian alcoholic beverage company which produces sparkling wine - which of course technically can not be called champagne.
Champagne de Venoge
One of many real champagne producers that still exists today. A personal favourite of mine - the poster, that is.
Champagne Duval-Leroy
Another producer that is still going strong. I like the festive atmosphere in this poster.
Rovellats Gran Cava
Here we have the Spanish variation, a sparkling wine called Gran Cava. Actually, we prefer the SPanish sparkling wines, because of the far superior quality/price ratio.
Kloster Gold Sekt
Sekt is the German variation on Champagne. A nice Art Deco poster.
Champagne Joseph Perrier
Back to the "real thing", from the region of Champagne itself. Nice idea to use the grapes as a dress.
Taittinger Champagne
Perhaps the most famous of these posters, and for a top brand. Elegant and original.
Champagne Veuve A. Devaux
This one is also pretty famous, albeit in the green background version. Personally I like the blue one better.
Liebart-Regnier Champagne
Closing this post with a personal favourite - with a wonderful twist by using the metal top of the bottle as a hat.
Cheers!
